Tonrose began trading at an exciting time in British textiles. In 1860, Lancashire mills including the Joshua Hoyle Company we later acquired, produced half the world’s cotton. By the turn of the century Lancashire mills were exporting 8 billion yards of cloth a year.
While the textile industry has changed significantly in the last century, our family-owned company values remain the same. Integrity, respect, innovation and a commitment to manufacturing products that genuinely improve lives, add value and that last underpin our activities. These things matter to us, our suppliers and most importantly, you.
Partnering with carefully selected global suppliers plays a vital role in helping us fulfil these values today. We only work with suppliers that meet our high quality and regulatory standards, and who comply with the internationally recognised standards set within our Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI). This Code of Conduct ensures those we partner with take worker welfare seriously and adopt practices such as good working conditions and fair pay. Our close supplier collaboration also gives us greater traceability along the supply chain.
We’ve plenty of reasons to celebrate success. From keeping standards fit for royalty at Buckingham Palace and Downton Abbey set locations to supplying the Celebrity Big Brother house, our list of achievements also includes acquiring Tradelinens and selling to the UK’s finest hotels.
The fact is we’ve helped thousands of clients help their guests sleep, live and feel better. But a lot goes on behind-the-scenes to make our linen the best. We work directly with family run mills, rather than agents, and through long-term partnerships with them provide top-notch quality and service. We are also proud holders of the ISO14001 and ISO9001.
